Wow that was a great 4th of July celebration in Brownville. High numbers and interest seemed to flow through the day. A truly great family experience and a must see for families with children as the true meaning of the fourth is intermixed with fun activities. No community works harder to share and give to others the rich historic heritage of their community. The addition of a pedal tractor pull was warmly received as Myers Pedal Tractor Pulls put on a show not to be matched by others working the area. 4-12 year old children from 8 states participated and a 10 year old Auburn girl and a past National pedal pull qualifier from Lenox IA locked up in a battle of titans involving 4 pulls each that had the crowd drained from the cheering. Truly this has become the 4th of July Mecca for Pedal Pullers. Small Brownville with giant heart now does even more for children. Hannah Jones of Auburn and Kayla Myers of Lenox Iowa had a great battle in the 10 year olds. Pat Hannah on the back. Kayla went on to edge Hannah and then she won the Iowa State Title then turned that into the National Championship for 10 year old girls. Let this be a lesson there is a path to the top of the Nation and actually the International, and it can start at a great get together like the incredible Freedom Day pull in Brownville on the 4th of July.
