Yes the biggest children's event in Nemaha County is back. Children 4-12 years old need to make the short trip to Brownville on July 4th, 2009. Myers Pedal Tractor Pulls will bring the equipment they will use to run the National Pedal Pull in Mitchell SD on the last weekend in September. Also we expect National Champion Kayla Myers to pedal in the 11 year old class and a variety of other state and national quality pedal pullers. Don't miss the best Pedal Tractor Pull run in eastern Nebraska. See you there.

While finishing up from our fundraising lunch duties during the 4th of July celebration in Brownville, we keep hearing loud laughter and cheering for a noticable length of time. We realized it was the pedal pull event that was happening at that time and it looked increasingly like the place to be, judging by the noise and size of the crowd . Unfortunately it (the pedal pull) had just finished by the time we too finished and so I had missed it. Throughout the rest of the day and week I kept hearing about how fun it was and that it appears to be the new 'Hit' event for Brownville's Freedom Celebration. I intend next year not to miss this event no matter what.

Ken Myers of Myers Pedal Tractor Pulls is the new head of the Missouri State Pedal Pull Association. The Myers are running the Missouri State Pull Championships and the National Pedal Pull Championships for 2009. Their schedule has tripled and is still growing. See these folks at the Freedom Day activities in Brownville NE on the 4th of July at Noon on Main Street. Don't forget the youngest daughter Kayla is a 2008 National Champion and will be pulling in the 11 year old class. Later this summer other Myers pulls will be in the area. Once again Brownville has the best 4th celebration in the Midwest. History, activities, and great people. Amazingly they don't have to have the alcohol that so many have to draw a crowd. The Pedal Tractor Pull was great fun for the pullers and seemed to be greatly appreciated by those watching. National quality equipment, children from 7 states, and some of the best pullers by passed other pulls to be in Brownville. This is a wonderful experience for the whole family. The people of Brownville will any visit great, but they come out in force for the 4th. It is really hard to explain why you weren't there. We plan on being there and having a ball as long as they let us. The Myers Family.
